Why I became a Nutritional Health Coach
I believe that a healthy mind is as vitally important as a healthy body; often unpleasant emotions are 'felt' as physiological symptoms, our state of mind can quite literally make us physically unwell. Influenced by personal experience of a life-threatening illness, I developed a keen interest in the impact of nutrition and diet on mental and physical wellbeing. In my person-centred therapy work I increasingly found that whilst talking therapy is very effective it is just one aspect of many other interventions needed to facilitate good mental health.
Whilst it may seem obvious that lifestyle, mental, and physical health are interconnected, the full impact of lifestyle change is just beginning to become apparent; lifestyle changes don’t just provide answers to treat issues in the present, they can also prevent potential onset of disease in the future. We have become heavily reliant on medications, which often come with detrimental side effects, and the modern diet is dominated by processed food lacking in nutrients.
As the client I have only your best interests at heart, we work together to focus entirely on your unique life. As a therapist I provide unconditional support and I fully believe in your capacity to grow, change, and develop in a way that suits you. As a coach I provide challenge and the skill set for you to make the changes that are best for you.
